Our Leadership

Pastor Murdoch Macfarlane

I came to Canada as a teacher, but really to get away from God, in 1967.  Not long after, I met Carol, and we were married in 1969.  God has blessed us with 3 children:

Iain, his wife Cindy, and their children, Finley and Brighton;

Heather, husband Brett, and their son Evan;

Scott, wife Kyra, and their son Mason.

I spent 25 years in the Saskatoon Public School System as a teacher, Vice-Principal, and the last 16 years as Principal.

Carol and I gave our lives to Jesus on March 9,1980, at Circle Drive Alliance Church and soon began to minister in evangelism, leading life groups and on the Board of Elders.

Following retirement from the School System, God led us to Elim Church where in 1999 we were invited to join the staff as assistant Pastor and we served on staff for 17 years.  Our responsibilities included evangelism, where we had the privilege of introducing the Alpha ministry, discipleship, where small groups played a significant role, and leadership of the Board of Elders in visitation, prayer, healing and deliverance ministry.  We also led teams in ministry at the Regional Psychiatric Centre for a number of years.

These were fruitful years and we look back on them with fond memories, but we also look forward to ministry among you as we help with the Sunday morning ministries, visitation and evangelism/discipleship as we anticipate helping out with the Alpha ministry.
